The Innovation Process explores the techniques that make a firm innovative, starting with the imperative of an innovation culture and following the process from an original idea and proceeding through to the creation of a continuous innovation cycle. It is adapted from The Facilitator’s Guide, which was prepared for The Innovation Secretariat as part of an educational package designed to promote innovative behaviour.
The Innovation Report dealt with leading and managing innovation, recruiting and retaining employees, knowledge capital, product and process innovation, marketing and finance. (This was one of a series of studies, published by the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT), researched and written by me, aimed at the needs of Leading Growth Firms (LGFs), defined as firms with 20 to 500 employees whose sales grew by 50% over a three-year period.)
Speeches
Managing in the 90s explored ways of transforming large organizations to be more innovative and flexible by applying entrepreneurial behavioral techniques. This speech was delivered at a conference sponsored by the Alberta Opportunities Company in February, 1991.
